Say a fresh shape will let you have 50% using it often will cause the skill% to go up above 100% even. Using the skill less will make the percentage drop. if it reaches zero, its gone. PS, I will not code in any percentages save to scetch the idea.
      • To scetch even further. The shape/ability learned from the beast is maintained with the skill. Need suggestions on this.

Beast Guild prop by Fred


Foreword

This might be a little bit incomplete but i've looked at it a couple of times and I think it's enough.

Description

Background

The legend says that a small now long forgotten tribe that lived in the land of Twanhi was aware that their body shape was very limited. With small hopes they started to study different kinds of creatures that lived around the small village. And tried to mimic them. After many years of studies the tribe learned how to physically transform into other creatures and mimic thier abilitys. This technique has passed through many generations and small guilds around the worlds now teach the ability to transform.

Main

The beast guild is a guild where the player transforms his/her body into a mortal weapon. The downside about the guild is that members cannot use any weapon while transformed. Clothes, armours, shoes and helmets are torn apart and weapons dropped in the very tormenting process.

Skills

All skills in the 'Other' tree. Beacause they fit so well with the guild (study, climb, perception etc).

A beast cannot hold or wield anything, just carry.

The ability to turn into a monster is learned from the master or a guru in the guild house, then the player has to shape his own creature from that. Check special.

When a player is transformed, some words will be translated to something unreadable, like: "gossip hey look i'm a bear!" triggers 1.hey to rhouw 2. look to jouljk 3. bear! to hnnuda!!. result in mud will be: "[GOSSIP]Fred: rhouw jouljk i'm a hnnuda!!". now if this is possible, other beasts can have an anti trigger that turns back the words to normal. which will create a beast language.

Guild commands

tranform: transform into the beast. adds special description to the player and changes all skills into new ones. check special below.

untransform: same as above but will untransform and turn back to normal. [NOTE!] those 2 commands are teached by the master. check other at the end of the prop.

Special

The Beast guild members has the ability to transform int o a creature for a short period of time whenever they want. BUT! -> The ability to transform into a beast is not tought like a normal skill or gcommand, much like in kung-fu the player chooses an animal and learns from that. This training will be like a normal stat training where the reward is the abilitys from the "teaching" animal. To make it more easy the guild is a whole walley, where many different animals is hiding. Then the player must search the walley to find the animal he/she wants to learn from (done by search command and random placements of the animals).

Why should a player want to change? When a player is tranformed, he/she gets different stats, attacks and abilitys. It's simply the purpose of the guild.

The ability to learn from a beast consumes sp and time (and a bit of thinking). The ability to transform into the beast the player has learned from consumes hp, gp and time. the more gp the longer can a player stay in beast form. Using skills also takes gp.

Shapes

here's a list of "animals" that I have thought of and their special skills. note that a player can only transform into ONE beast. but the choises of animals shapes the monster into hybrids of different... uh... things.

when 2 of the same skill is taught, only one of them stays. The cheap prices is because gp is "drawn" every 6th second when transformed. And also - players do not just get new skills/commands when transformed. Stats and attack/defence is also included ("tranform into the meanest biggest badest creature ever seen on the mud").

Wolf: the player transforms into a more warewolf shaped creature.
skills ->
claw: "wields" claws, which take more damage. cost: 40 gp
player changes: longer nose, sharper claws, hairy.

Fox:
skills ->
howl: the gpose command. cost 30 gp
changes: orange tail.

Lion:
skills ->
roar [target]: lower the defence of [target]. cost: 20 gp, 10 sp and 1 sec
changes: Yellow hair around neck.

Hawk:
skills ->
peek [dir]: looks one room ahead at [dir]. cost: 3 gp
changes: Feathers on arms. width of arms are increased.

Rat:
skills -> none. but by study more creatures gets the transformable beast stronger.

Rabbit:

camoflage: turns invisible. Cannot move though. cost: 20 gp

Bear:
skills ->
hug [target]: hugs target. timeconsuming, powerful attack command will hold target for 4 seconds.
cost: 10 gp and 3 sec.

note that the whole walley/crater is surrounded by mountains. And there will be rooms in the mountain.

Other

Like Pyros idea about having a guild ruler beast guild have a master that works with me. The master has his own room (he literally own the whole guild house) and gets various things to do to improve the guild. He is a master and must take care of all other player beasts. The master is also the one that teaches the transform command (In case of emergency I will help out).

I like Pyros idea so much so I take it straight as it is (In fact, I already thought of this before I saw that pyro already had it in his prop). If Pyro dislike this I will change it. Commands in the beast guild are non combat ones.

Command: Initate - Initates a player into guild and teaches the basic transformation command. Then the initiator must (if needed) show the initatee around and teach him/her the ropes. This can only be done by the master. A little ceremony is held in the garden. Only beasts 30+ is allowed to do this. And only when they feel they are ready for it and they have done the right for the guild, and will continue that way. This is also a promotion.
